INTRODUCTION

The idea of establishing this academy got reality in 1973 with the collaboration of five dedicated, hard-worker and honest persons of Ustarzai Payan, Kohat. Among them, Mr. Ahmad Raza has been playing an active role since its inception till date, also the Managing Director of the Al-Asar Academy. Initially, the concentration remained only to help the needy and deserve students of Ustarzai by collecting money from the rich, which helped the students in getting books, uniform etc. As the time passed, their determination got stronger to achieve their goal of community uplift. At last, their dream got a real shape when they were finally managed to get enough resources as well as an area of around 148 kanals to erect the pillars of the Al-Asar Academy.

The construction of its first phase started around 1992. Though, the initial tempo of the work was slow and tough due to lack of infrastructure facilities like proper leveled ground and accessibility to the location. Even, leveling of the ground and construction of metalled road took 2 years. But, in spite of all such hurdles, they kept in moving to achieve their goal. Today, the academy is one of the ideal institute in Kohat because of its standard of education and location. The most remarkable point to be pointed is the consecutive 12 years result of Matric Exam where the academy achieved meritorious popularity by securing 100% marks.

The academy comprises of School, College, Female Section, Male Hostel and Community Center which is further divided into a mosque and library. The Academy has still a long way to go ahead to achieve further expansion of its campus and to deliver best education to the generation.

In spite of the fact that now Degree colleges have been setup at all district headquarters and Intermediate College practically in all Tehsils of the former N.W.F.Province, there is a great scramble for admission to this College. But due to lack of facilities nearly as many application are turned down as number of parents from the tribal areas and the settled districts want their sons and wards to be educated here even if there is a College nearer home, as they look upon this institution with a sense of belonging. Its past traditions and present achievements make it easily the best educational institution in the country. Essentially the Islamia College is a residential college with 75% of its students and nearly the whole staff living on the campus like a coterie of scholars seeking and imparting knowledge.

 EDWARDES COLLEGE PESHAWAR

I Have Pass My Bachelor Degree From Edwardes College Peshawar In

BETC HND Business Edexcel UK.

INTRODUCTION

Edwardes College was the first university college in the Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan. It was founded in 1900 first as a high school in Peshawar named after Sir Herbert Edwardes, becoming a college affiliated to the University of the Punjab. Following partition, for geographical reasons it became part of the University of Peshawar when it was inaugurated in 1952.

Edwardes College is co-educational and was one of the first colleges in Pakistan to admit women. There are currently 200 women students among a college student population of just under 2,000, and 10 women lecturers. It is anticipated that these numbers will increase.

The present site of the college campus is located in an attractive part of the city within easy reach of the provincial museum and archives, the railway station, the airport and various other colleges. The main university site is some distance away. The college possesses both a mosque and a Christian chapel.

The college remains a Christian foundation (United Church of Pakistan). Unlike many other university colleges it did not succumb to the nationalization process of the 1970s. Its ethos has been well summed up by an early principal, the Rev R. H. Noble as follows;

“We are people of different countries, faiths and races living in harmony and friendship. We work together and try to learn the secret of fellowship and peace. We hope our lives may be more useful and this sprit of helpfulness will enrich the province in which we live to the greater glory of God"
